摘　　要：小说《八月之光》所营造的恐怖、阴暗氛围透显出明显的哥特式特征。该小说对幽暗封闭的环境描写、孤癖残忍的人物塑造、充满凶杀暴力的故事情节的设置都具有浓郁的哥特式色彩。福克纳旨在通过哥特式文学手法,控诉南方宗教压迫和种族迫害。The horrific and darksome atmosphere built in the novel Light in August makes it filled with gothic characteristics： a description of the dark and closed environment, the modeling of the solitary and cruel characters and the plot setting full of murder and violence all endow with rich gothic colors. The writer aims to denounce the religious oppression and racial persecution through gothic literary techniques.
