摘　　要：《达洛维夫人》是英国著名女作家弗吉尼亚·沃尔夫较为成熟的一部现代主义文学作品。伍尔夫笔下父权制社会的人们,不论男性、女性,不论异性婚姻家庭成员、同性恋者,或多或少都遭受到了社会世俗的压迫,造成了扭曲、不幸的生活实际。伍尔夫试图告诉人们,父权制社会世俗压迫是小说人物痛苦的根源,只要父权制存在,社会世俗压迫就不会消失,生活就难言幸福。Virginia Woolf, a well-known British modernist novelist, depicted in her masterpiece, Mrs. DaUoway a vivid picture of people＇ s psychological world in the patriarchal English society. Suppression of conventionality permeates in the patriarchal world and brings its destructive force upon men, women, husbands and wives, gays and lesbians, which has made people＇ s life a tragic, miserable and twisted one. It seems suppression of conventionality will always be there so long as the society people live in is patriarchy.
