摘　　要：由于历史文化语境的嬗变,《聊斋志异》英译经历一个从跨文化操纵到文化和合的过程。在早期《聊斋志异》英译过程中,西方汉学家用西方意识形态和诗学观念指导自己的翻译实践,操纵原文。在当代《聊斋志异》英译过程中,大多数西方汉学家以及中国翻译家力求如实传达中国文化,促进中西文化交流,达到中西文化和合共存的目的。The English translation of Liaozhaizhiyi was historically contextualized and experienced a development from cross-cultural manipulation to cultural harmonization. The early Western sinologists guided their translation with Western ideology and poetics, and often manipulated the original text. Most of the contemporary Western sinologists and Chinese translators have tried every means to reproduce real Chinese culture when translating Liaozhaizhiyi into English so that the Chinese culture can coexist harmoniously with the Western culture.
