赛珍珠作品中的“中国母亲”形象分析

摘　　要：作为一位女权主义运动的先行者,美国作家赛珍珠终生都在不懈地引导人们关注妇女的生存状态,聆听她们的诉求。在华生活近40年的经历更使赛珍珠对男权文化下的中国妇女命运始终保持敏感。赛珍珠笔下的妇女群像不仅折射出一位异邦客眼中的中国式母亲,也承载了丰富内涵的母性文化特征。通过塑造一系列具有典型意义的母亲形象,赛珍珠以独特的跨文化视野写实地反映出中国女性在旧制度下的生存特性,颂扬了中国普通女性身上所具有的超凡品质,客观地呈现了她们所处的历史和文化语境。这一创作宗旨也同时体现了赛珍珠超前的女性主义立场和毕生倡导的差异共存和互相尊重的文化精神。As a forerunner of feminist movement,Pearl S.Buck has devoted her whole life in calling attention to the living conditions of women and listening to the demands of their inner world respectfully.The first hand experience of living in China for more than forty years allowed her the special care and concern towards the oppressed Chinese women under male-dominated culture.The concerned women images not only reflect the mothers of Chinese style from a foreigner＇s point of view but also reveal the sophisticated maternal cultural traits.By creating a series of typical mother image,the writer presented us the special living status of Chinese women within the framework of old system,eulogized the merits of ordinary women and truthfully revealed the cultural context of their suffering.Meanwhile,this writing purpose well represents her feminist position and lifelong advocation of cultural diversity and mutual respect.
