摘　　要："文字并非‘在语言的基础上派生出来的’",汤炳正先生《〈说文〉歧读考源》中此说,乃"语言文字学理论上的重大突破"。就文字与语言关系这一研究领域言,是文无论从哪一层面上看,都是20世纪初迄今最为优秀的成果之一。其对现代文字与语言关系这一研究领域所作出之重要贡献有二:就传统语言文字学言,是对"因声求义"说完善之补充;就现代语言文字学言,是正以"语言学眼光"观文字起源之失。而这两方面,乃文字与语言关系中之尤巨者。The view that＂characters are not derived on the basis of language,＂in Tang Bingde＇s Verification of the Origin in Misreading Shuo Wen Jie Zi,is＂agreat breakthrough in philological theories.＂In terms of the research field on the relation between characters and languages,this thesis is one of the top achievements since the early 20 th century whatever aspects judged from.Two important contributions it made to this field are：as for traditional philology,it improved and complemented the theory of＂getting meaning from pronunciation＂;and for modern philology,it noticed the mistakes on the origin of characters based on＂linguistic perspective＂.Both of them are the particularly important parts in the relations between characters and languages.
