The minority population exceeds 100 million in China, and the development of minority areas relates directly with the building of an all-round better off society by 2020 in pursuit of the realization of the Chinese dream. This survey is planned to shed new light on the conditions of all aspects of social-economic development within these areas and to assist the central government in formulating their development plan. This ＂big survey＂ has over 20 subprojects,
