摘　　要：陶瓷艺术是中国文化符号之一,记载了中国文明的进程.陶器在新石器时代就已出现,商代中期则产生了早期的瓷器.在中国陶瓷发展的历史上,素有“石湾陶、景德瓷”之说.何为“石湾陶”？这是指诞生于广东省佛山石湾地区的陶塑艺术.Ceramics industry in Shiwan area dates back to the Neolithic Period. A late Neolithic midden site had been excavated in 1970s,there were plenty of stone, bone artifacts and pottery had been discovered, they were the earliest Shiwan pottery which could be researched and owned the apparent historical traces. Shiwan pottery sculpture contains folk culture and humanistic spirit, it developed in Lingnan area after the long period, it owns a kind of combination among humanity, endemicity and nationality. For thousands of years, Shiwan pottery sculpture had the tight connection with folk culture, and it was deeply influenced by local custom. It owns long history, extensive themes, vivid forms and profound meanings, it both contains the rich connotation of Chinese traditional culture, and the unique charm of Lingnan culture.
