摘 要:本研究以清华大学为例,探讨了研究型大学英语教育体系的构建与课程设置。笔者认为,构建大学英语教育体系应依据外语学习规律、大学教育特点以及各高校对人才培养的要求,体现英语学习与通识培养和专业培养相结合、课内教学与课外环境相匹配、语言工具性与人文性相兼顾等特点。据此,我们构建了清华大学本、硕、博一体化的英语教育体系,旨在实现英语学习的持续性和针对性,满足不同教育阶段的学生对英语的不同需求,为学生的跨文化交流、人文素养提升以及专业发展提供支撑。This study explores how to develop an integrated English education system(IEES) for undergraduates and postgraduates at a Chinese research-oriented university in the context of globalization. It is argued that constructing the IEES should be in conformity with principles of second language learning, nature of collegeeducation for undergraduates and postgraduates, and learners ' needs analysis as well. The IEES developed by Tsinghua University, one Chinese research-oriented university, was employed as a case in the study.The paper reveals that Tsinghua 's IEES is featured with an integration of students ' English language learning into their professional education and general education, a combination of classroom teaching and after-class activities, and a balance between English as a tool and English as a humanity subject. It is hoped that this IEES can help meet the needs of undergraduates and postgraduates at different proficiency levels, guarantee their continuance of English learning, improve their cross-culture communication competence and general humanistic quality, and support their subject learning and professional development.
