摘　　要：英语的全球化对世界语言生态造成了强烈的冲击,给中国也带来了很大的负面影响,对中国文化的冲击尤为突出。本文分析"语言工具论"在中国盛行与这些负面影响的关系,指出"语言工具论"的片面性,提出应该正确地理解语言本质及其工具功能,充分发挥语言的作用,构建和谐的语言生态,维持语言生态平衡。The globalization of English exerts a great impact on the ecology of language and it brings about negative in- fluence on China as well, especially Chinese culture. This paper analyzes the relation between the widespread instrumentalism in China and the negative influence of English. We find out the instrumentalism is insufficient in understanding the essence of language and propose that we should correctly comprehend the essence and functionality of language, give full play to the function of language so as to maintain the ecological balance of languages.
