摘 要:随着大学与社会的关系日益密切,社会要求大学为其提供服务的呼声越来越高,大学所要承担的社会责任也越来越多,从而使得现代大学面临一系列问题,而问题解决的关键就在于大学如何在承担社会责任的同时又不威胁和损害到其自身的基本学术原则。在此背景下,博克提出了学术中立的观点:大学既要坚守学术原则,也要承担相应的社会责任,在两者之间保持学术中立以达到双方的平衡。该观点不仅为美国大学的发展指明了方向,而且对我国现代大学的改革与重建也具有宝贵的参考价值与借鉴意义。With closer and closer relationship between university and society,more and more people require the university to provide more service for society and to undertake increasing social responsibilities. As a result,the modern society is faced with a series of problems. The key of solving these problems is how to avoid university's basic academic principle being violated when it undertakes social responsibilities. In this context,Bok put forward the view of academic neutrality,and he argued that the university should protect its own basic academic principle;meanwhile,it also should undertake corresponding social responsibilities,only keeping academic neutrality can we keep balance between them. This view not only shows a bright way for American university,but also can offer important reference value for modern universities' reform and rebuilding in our country.
