摘 要:本文阐述了科技语篇中"指示指称"关系的多维性和复杂性,认为正确理解原文语篇的关键在于先弄清楚"近指"与"远指"、"前指"与"后指"以及定冠词"the"的"回指"等指称关系。文章还从"指称差异"、"指称重复"、"连环回指"以及定冠词"the"的"严谨"、"强指"、"共指"及"认知与经验"等多维视角,重点探讨科技语篇"指示指称"翻译实践中出现的棘手问题,并提出了有效的处理方法。This paper discusses the multi-dimensional and complicated relations of demonstrative- reference in ESP scientific discourse, which points out that the crux of appropriate understanding the original text should, first of all, lie in clarifying the relations among "near terms and distant terms" , "forward referents and back- ward orientations" and "anaphor of definite article ' the' " . The paper probes into some thorny problems often emerging in the practice of demonstrative-reference translation in ESP scientific discourse and also puts forward some effective solutions to these problems from the multi-dimensional perspective of "reference difference", "reference repetition" and "eatenated anaphor", and of "preciseness", "strong - reference" , "co-refer- ence", and "cognition and experience" of definite article "the"
