摘　　要：语言是文化的镜子,又是文化的载体,只有参悟了语言的文化因素和内涵,才能准确地掌握语言的意义和色彩,才能在跨文化交际过程中避免不必要的误解和冲突。对比英汉比喻的异同,可以为英语语言学习者提供借鉴,同时也为其跨文化交际敏悟性的培养与提高指出一个切入点。Language is the mirror for culture, and also the carrier of culture. Only when we realize the culture element and connotation can we master the meaning and color of language exactly and avoid unnecessary misunderstanding or conflict in the process of cross - culture communication. By comparing the difference and similarities of English and Chinese metaphors, English learner can draw some lessons from it, and as the point of penetration, cultivate and improve his comprehension in the process of cross - culture communication.
