摘　　要：话轮沉默既不是语言交际,也不是身势语交际,它属于非言语交际手段之一。话轮沉默现象往往被我们所忽视,保持话轮沉默一方的交际意图也常常被误解。外文名著中人物的话轮沉默,实际上是角色表达情感的一种途径,这种情感的产生是瞬间的,而对于作品中情感的接受者来说却是永恒的、难以忘怀的。Turn silence is neither a linguistic communication nor a body language,but one of the non-linguistic communicative means.Turn silence is often ignored by people and therefore the real communicative purpose of the party who keep silent in communication tends to be misunderstood.Characters＇ turn silence in foreign literatures,especially novels are a medium for expressing feelings of roles,and such emotions are instantaneous in emergence,while perpetual and unforgettable for the acceptant of the affection in the literary works.
