英汉语中“蚂蚁”及相关惯用语的文化涵义与翻译

摘　　要：语言作为文化的载体,反映了不同的文化背景。习语是语言中最为丰富的语言单位,充分体现了使用该语言的民族在不同文化背景及风俗习惯下形成的表达方式。动物习语的出现极大地丰富了各种语言,使得文化涵义的表达更为生动具体。蚂蚁,作为与恐龙同时代的生物,具有悠久的发展历史。尽管在东西方文化中蚂蚁都是勤劳勇敢、团结奋斗的化身,但是因文化背景和英汉语表达方式的不同,两种语言中的蚂蚁意象还是存在偏差。因此,只有充分了解英汉语的文化差异,正确选择恰当的翻译方法,准确翻译与蚂蚁有关的习语,才能真正达到在该领域跨文化交际的目的。As the carrier of culture,language reflects different cultural backgrounds. Idioms are one of the richest units of language,representing different ways of expression that different ethnics use in different cultural backgrounds and customs. Idioms about animals greatly enrich all kind of languages and make the expressions of cultural connotation vivid and concrete. Ants,as old as dinosaurs,have a long developmental history. Although ants are industrious,courageous and cooperative in the west and east,there exist differences between English and Chinese because of different cultural backgrounds and language expressions. Therefore,only if we fully understand the cultural differences and correctly adopt the appropriate translation methods,translates the idioms about ants exactly,can we really realize the intercultural communication in this field.
