摘　　要：严歌苓在小说创作中非常注意叙事方式的选择和应用。她早期的作品《雌性的草地》(1989)和《扶桑》(1996)是她进行叙事创新的典型范例。在这两部作品中,她精心设计了繁复的叙事架构,极大地增强了叙事表达的能力。然而,这两部作品的复合叙事框架存在着不同程度和性质的缺陷,对读者解读文本的过程和效果都造成一定的困扰。Geling Yan cares much about the choice and utility of narrative techniques in writing fictions. Her early works The Feminine Grassland（ 1989）and Fusang（ 1996 ）are good examples of her efforts in making narrative innovations. In these two novels, she elaborately designs complex narrative structures to enhance the expressive function of each text to a great degree. However, there are irreparable defects in the compound narrative structures of these two novels which are likely to hinder readers＇ interpretation of the texts as the author has expected.
