摘 要:CET采用汉英段落翻译这一题型的理据在于回应批评与质疑,引导大学英语教学改革,促进大学生关注国情,培养大学生的跨文化交际能力,提高大学生用英语表述国情及汉译英的能力,推动大学生提升英语书面表达的质量,贯彻文化"走出去"的国家战略,拓宽国际社会了解中国的渠道,强化大学生的母语文化自豪感,提升大学生的综合文化素养。明确CET段落汉译英的理据,有利于其正面反拨作用的发挥。The adoption of Chinese-English paragraph translation in CET has such motivations as:responding to criticism and questioning, improving testing validity and meeting communicative needs in actual situations;guiding college English teaching reforms, innovating traditional teaching methods and advancing the in-volvement of Chinese culture into teaching content; guiding college students to concern national situations, increasing their ability to express national situations in English and developing college students’cross-cultural communication ability;guiding college students to improve their translation from Chinese into English and promoting their English writing ability;implementing the national culture“going out”policy, broadening the channels through which the international community knows China and curing“Chinese cultural aphasia”;reinforcing college students’love for their national culture, promoting their pride in their national culture and increasing their comprehensive cultural literacy. Clarifying the motivations behind the adoption of the new test item helps to exert its intended positive washback.
