摘 要:邓小平同志的"三个面向"思想于特定的历史背景下产生,对我国的教育改革与发展产生了持续性的历史影响。然而,"三个面向"思想在大学性格的语境下存在着一定的局限性,它是大学性格的必要非充分条件。大学既要面向现代化,也要珍视历史,守卫传统;既要面向世界,也要立足国家,服务民族;既要面向未来,也要回顾过去,寻求镜鉴。事实上,大学性格具有多重性与共生性,我们不仅要关注其正向性格,更要呵护其反向性格。Deng Xiaoping’s thought of"Three Orientations"was put forward in particular historical background and has exerted continuous historic influence on our educational innovation and development.However,"Three Orientations"has its limitations in terms of its relationship with university character,with the former a necessary but not sufficient condition for the latter.Universities should cherish the history and tradition as well as being geared towards modernization;they should be rooted in their country and nation as well as looking to the world;they should retrospect the past as well as anticipating the future.In fact,university character shows the features of multiplicity and symbiosis,and the two possible opposite orientations in it should both be stressed.
