摘 要:《孙子兵法》之复译,作为一有利可图的文化生产场域,见证了译者之间围绕权力和权威而展开的斗争。这场斗争表面是围绕"体",即谁的译文更忠实于孙子的内容与形式,实质上是围绕"用",即谁的译文更能满足读者的需求。而读者的需求又直接决定着文化资本的再分配,而文化资本的再分配又是在译者将其转换成经济资本的翻译行为中得以实现。加葛里亚蒂之所以敢于挑战先前译者的权威地位并在英语文化语境取得空前成功正是由于其成功实施了独特的体用合一化资本运作策略。As a lucrative field,the retranslation of The Art of War has witnessed infightings over power andauthority among translators. While on the surface,the infightings appear to have centered on“substance”-namely,whose version is more faithful to the original written content and form,they are in essence aimed at“function”-namely,whose version better satisfies the needs of readers. Readers’needs directly decide on the redistribution ofcultural capital,which is regenerated and realized in the translational act translated into economic capital. Thereason why Gagliardi dare to challenge the authority position of previous translators and achieve unprecedentedsuccess is precisely that he adopted his unique operation strategy on cultural capital which is characterized bysubstance and function in unity.
