非诗歌语言的语域变异研究——以《纪念威廉·巴特勒·叶芝》为例

摘　　要：诗歌语言以日常生活中文雅的词汇为主要来源,但现代诗歌经常从其他语域借用词汇,如地理学、金融学、医学等,假以文体学语域变异的手法,使描写的诗歌意象更加具体化、富有表现力,以突出主题。英国诗人奥登在《纪念威廉·巴特勒·叶芝》中,使用不同语域的词汇,深切哀悼一位划时代诗人的黯然离世,既含蓄地批评叶芝的政治倾向,又颂扬其诗歌的伟大,同时对诗歌的政治生命力提出质疑。本文研究《纪念威廉·巴特勒·叶芝》中非诗歌语言的语域变异现象,深入探讨语域变异对诗歌意象的表达以及突出主题的作用,同时研究语域变异的修辞理据。Traditionally, the poetic language is derived from the daily-used words which are elegant and descriptive, while the modem poetic language borrows words from other registers, such as geography, finance, medical science and others by means of deviation of register to create expressive and meaningful poetic images and to emphasize the theme. In 1939, Auden wrote a poem In Memory of IV. B. Yeats to memorize Yeats. As a master of poetic language, Auden explores various deviations of register from non-poetic language and creates the poetic images to mourn for the great poet as a forerunner of modem poetry, and meanwhile he also criticizes Yeats＇ political prejudice. This paper focuses on the deviation of register from non-poetic language with In Memory of W. B. Yeats as a case to illustrate how its theme is highlighted, and how the poetic images are created.
