摘　　要：词典插图是图像在词典领域中的应用。克里斯(Kress)和范·勒文(van Leeuwen)在对图像意义的分析中表明,图像与文字一样能通过自己的方式表达相同的意义。以此理论为基础,对双语词典中词典插图的表意特征和表意方式进行探讨,可以说明其与词典释义在词典的意义传达过程中具有同等重要的地位。Dictionaries＇ pictorial illustrations are the applications of images in the field of dictionary. Through the analysis of image meaning, Kress and van Leeuwen have illustrated that apart from words, images also function greatly in conveying and expounding the same meanings. This thesis attempts to dis- sect the representational features and methods of bilingual dictionaries＇ pictorial illustrations from the per- spective of this theory, so as to draw the conclusion that pictorial illustrations are attached the same impor- tance as words in conveying meanings in dictionary.
