超越二元、以人为本——解读彼得·凯里小说文本中的伦理思想

摘　　要：澳大利亚著名作家彼得·凯里的两部伦理主题小说《幸福》和《偷窃一个爱情故事》颠覆了非此即彼、泾渭分明的传统道德思维模式,蕴含着超越二元、以人为本的伦理思想。面对着强大的社会制度,小说中的人物陷入了种种困境而难以自拔,迷失于真与假、善与恶、美与丑的道德抉择,在善恶两级的滑动和反复中,异化成既非圣洁天使,也非十足恶魔的精神分裂者,彰显出人性的复杂和多面以及道德主体身份构建的艰辛,主人公最终回归道德高地,体现了作者宽厚包容的人文主义精神。Bliss and Theft A Love Story by Peter Carey, the well-known Australian writer, subvert the traditional ethical think- ing mode of black or white with more humanistic concerns towards morality issue, in an attempt to transcend the dualism. Overwhelmed by the powerful social systems, the characters in the stories, more often than not, are imprisoned in one way or another. They get lost morally in choosing the authentic from the fake, the kind from the wicked, and the beautiful from the ugly, and make themselves, in a sense, schizoids who are neither holy angels nor unpardonable monsters during the transfor- mation from the two polarization of extremes, revealing the complexity and muhi-facetedness of human nature and the hard in constructing ethical identity. The return of leading characters to the ethical upland, as the end of the stories show, is a demon- stration of the author＇ s liberal humanistic spirit.
