肿瘤学中文科技期刊英文题名撰写问题调查及分析  

English titles of research papers in selected Chinese oncological journals: Editing and modifying

摘　　要：在中文科技期刊的国际化发展中,论文的英文题名对于学术交流具有重要的意义。本研究调查了国内7种肿瘤学中文科技期刊2015年发表的257条英文题名,按照准确性、简练性和清晰性的标准进行评价,结果发现超过半数(142条,55.3%)的英文题名存在各类问题共153处,其中以英文题名欠简练最常见(40.5%),其次为介词搭配不当(16.3%)、名词单复数错误(13.1%)、中式英语引起的词序不当(13.1%)和专业术语使用不正确(6.5%)等。由此可见,国内肿瘤学中文科技期刊的作者和编辑均应努力提高自身的英文水平,这是中文科技期刊国际化发展的最根本前提。For internationalization of Chinese scientific and technologic journals, English titles of research papers are very important in academic communication. This study reviewed 257 English titles of research papers in selected 7 Chinese oncological journals issued in 2015 to evaluate the English writing ability according to the principle of ABC （accuracy, brevity, and clarity）. The result revealed that more than half （142, 55.3%） of the English titles had 153 problems in English expression. Lengthy titles and redundant expressions were most frequent （40.5%）, followed by misuse of prepositions （16.3%）, misuse of singular and plural nouns （13.1%）, improper word order due to Chinglish （13.1%）, and misuse of professional terms （6.5%）. Thus, the authors and the editors of Chinese oncological journals should strive to improve their English writing ability, which is the most basic prerequisite for internationalization of Chinese academic journals.
