摘　　要：2001年度诺贝尔文学奖得主V·S·奈保尔结合自己的创作实践发表了一系列小说美学观念,奈保尔认为文学应积极地介入当代社会现实和人生境况;他信赖写作过程中的直觉和激情,强调形式和内容的独创但反对为艺术而艺术的纯粹虚构;他同时认为一定的审美距离感是进行写作的必要条件之一。这些基本观念构成了奈保尔创作实践的基本原则,也对深入理解这位作家的创作有重要意义。V.S.Naipaul,the winner of 2001 Nobel Prize for literature,published a series of novel aesthetic concepts with the combination of his own writing practices.Naipaul holds that,literature should be actively involved in contemporary social reality and life situation.He believes in the intuition and passion in the process of writing,and emphasizes the originality of form and contents rather than the pure fiction of art for art.Meanwhile,he thinks that certain aesthetic sense of distance is one of the necessary conditions for writing.These fundamental concepts constitute Naipaul's basic principles for writing practice,and also have a great significance for us to thoroughly understand his writing.
