摘　　要：许多高校在英语专业开设了英语报刊选读课程,该课程特点要求学生从批评分析视角解读新闻报道。培养学生的批评语言意识是外语教学的一项重要任务,其中阅读教学是培养批评语言意识的重要环节。本文首先论述了英语报刊选读课程的特点和培养学生批评语言意识的重要性,然后指出在英语报刊选读课程中开展批评性阅读活动不仅能够提高该课程的教学效果,而且有助于培养学生的批评语言意识。Many universities and colleges have set up English News Reading as a supplementary course for English majors. Students are required to make critical analysis of news report. It remains a major task to cultivate students＇ critical language awareness, and Reading is an important part of this process. Based on exposition of the features of English News Reading and the importance of cultivating critical language awareness, this paper points out that crit- ical reading is conducive to enhancing teaching effect and cultivating critical language awareness.
