摘　　要："中体西用"是中国最早出现的现代化理论,从一定意义上推动了晚清时期中国社会的转型。然而,"中体西用"理念试图将封建主义与资本主义相结合,本身就包含了无法调和的传统、保守与现代、进步等因素之间的矛盾,因此制约了早期现代化运动的深入推进,也预示了现代化运动的无果而终。＂Chinese - style westernization＂ is the earliest Chinese modernization theory promoting the transformation of Chinese society in the late Qing dynasty to some extent. ＂Chinese - style westernization＂ tries to combine feudalism with capitalism. It contains contradictions which are impossible to reconcile such as tradition and modernity, conservation and progress. It restricted the implementation of the early modernization movement and announced the fruitlessness of modernization movement.
