摘　　要：由科学共同体约定并广泛认同的科学隐喻具有重要的方法论功能。本文试图从概念隐喻的角度,探讨科学隐喻的成因,指出科学隐喻的重要功能,提出在处理科学隐喻翻译的过程中,要把握科学隐喻的概念映射及读者的认知需求,从而更好地把握科学隐喻实质。Scientific metaphors,which have been determined by the scientific community,are very important for the development of science and technology. This paper explores the reasons for the creation of scientific metaphors and investigates the functions of scientific metaphors from the perspective of conceptual metaphor theory.It points out the duty of the translator is to understand the nature of conceptual metaphor and translate the metaphorical language into the target language. With some illustrations,this paper offers a new perspective on the translation of scientific metaphor.
