摘　　要：生命科学进展是当前海南大学生物技术和生物科学两本科专业学生及时了解生物学领域的最新研究成果,丰富和拓展专业知识,激发创新意识,培养研究兴趣和确立研究方向而设立的一门重要选修课程。就该课程在海南大学中的设置理念、课程特色和在本科创新人才培养中所起到的重要作用进行了综合分析和评价。Frontiers in life science is an important undergraduate course for both majors of biological science and biotechnology in Hainan University. This course not only provides an introduction of recent developments in life science fields ,but also offers a great opportunity to train and aid students to enrich, develop and enhance their professional expertise and knowledge, promote curiosity, creativity, productivity and innovation, cultivate interest in life science, and chose research areas.In this paper, the course design, course characteristics and importance of the undergraduate innovation talent education in Hainan University were comprehensive analyzed and evaluated.
