摘 要:中动句和简单被动句(省略了施事)都包含一个隐性施事。研究表明,对中动句中隐性施事的理解有赖于认知系统,而对简单被动句隐性施事的理解到底是依赖语言系统还是认知系统还存在争议。本文通过两个实验探讨了不同水平中国英语学习者对由熟悉动词和新动词构成的中动句和简单被动句隐性施事的理解机制。结果显示,对简单被动句隐性施事的理解有两个来源机制:动词表征和构式来源,并且高、低水平中国英语学习者对简单被动句隐性施事的理解模式没有差异。结论符合基于用法的语言理论和认知语法的构式观。Middle constructions and simple passive constructions(the agent is not syntactically realized)both represent an implicit agent.Whereas understanding of the implicit agents of middle structures is known to rely on cognitive resources,the resource concerning the implicit agents of simple passive structures remains controversial.The present study,through two experiments using semantic sensitivity judgment tasks,explores how Chinese English learners with different levels of proficiency comprehend middle structures and simple passive structures containing known and novel verbs.The results show that understanding of the implicit agent of simple passive structures call for two resources:linguistic resource and construction resource.The results are discussed in terms of usage-based theories and the view of construction in Cognitive Grammar.
