摘　　要：雪莉杰克逊的短篇小说《抽彩》从问世到被读者接受,经历了一个戏剧化的过程。作品对于人性的主题进行深邃洞察和发掘,对男权社会中女性地位和悲剧命运加以深刻的剖析,对于民主制度给予了独特的影射和反思。小说通过理性地审视人类灵魂深处的污浊,冷峻地揭露人性的残酷,呼唤人性的回归和民主文明社会的重塑。Since its publication, The Lottery written by Shirley Jackson has caused much controversy among its readers. This paper analyzes Shirley Jackson＇s insight into human nature, her analysis of women＇s status and their tragic fate, and her reflections on democracy. It is concluded that this story calls us back to our human nature by exposing the cruelty deep inside human beings.
