摘　　要：《寻欢作乐》是英国作家毛姆的代表作之一。小说通过男女主人公的身体形象对比,揭示出身体与自我的互动阐释关系,阐明了艺术创作的成功离不开自我的和谐与统一,而这种和谐又以健美的身体为依托。对身体的回归,就是对生命本真状态的重视。同时,毛姆对罗西追求性自由和性解放的态度给予了充分肯定和赞扬,满怀热情地憧憬并召唤一种新的伦理共同体的形成。Cakes and Ale is one of the masterpieces of British writer William Somerset Maugham. By comparing the body images of the male and female protagonists, the novel reveals the interactive explanatory relation between body and self, exposing the fact that the success of literary creativity is indispensable to the harmony and unity of the self,and that such kind of harmony is based on healthy and beautiful body. Thus, the return to the body means the accent of the life itself. Meanwhile,Maugham speaks highly of Rosie＇s attitude towards the pursuit of sexual freedom,enthusiastically envisioning and calling for the construction of a new ethics community.
