摘　　要：科学揭示高校社会捐赠交换的本质,是高校社会捐赠系统良性生态机制形成与运行的前提和理论基础。美国高校社会捐赠交换的本质是满足高校和捐赠主体的不同需要。美国高校社会捐赠是高校与捐赠主体遵循自愿、自主和非对等性原则的互利互惠的社会交换行为,是在社会环境制约下的理性自觉的社会交换行为,并在捐赠主体间关系、捐赠功能、捐赠原则等方面表现出社会交换特征。美国高校社会捐赠交换本质及其特征,为中国高校社会捐赠系统良性生态机制形成与运行提供了理论支撑和经验借鉴。Scientific revealing of the essence of social donation exchange in colleges and universities is the premise and theoretical base to form and operate positive ecological mechanism in social donation system in col- leges and universities. Essence of social donation exchange in American colleges and universities is to fulfill dif- ferent requirements from colleges and donors. These exchange behaviors are voluntary, independent, unequal and mutual beneficial between donors and higher education institutions. They are rational and spontaneous social ex- change under the restraints of social environment. They have social exchange features in donation function, donation principle and inter-donors relationship.
