摘 要:明代"后七子"重要成员宗臣出生于崇儒重教底蕴深厚的扬州兴化,在其父的教导下,从小打下了比较扎实的古文功底,远超明清两代那些眼中只有时文的陋儒。宗臣为官秉性刚直,富有气节,但与权奸斗争时气节有余,韬略欠缺,束缚了其发展空间。如果能有所忍,有所待,可能会在更高的位置上施展自己的才华,受益范围则不仅仅是福建一地的百姓,而是天下更多的黎民苍生。Zong Chen, an important member of " the Seven Great Minds" in Ming dynasty, was born in Xinghua, Yangzhou, where Confucianism, education and civilization prevailed. Under his father's instruction, Zong Chen had a good mastery of ancient literature when he was young. His achievements belittled those Confucianists,who only focused on the Stereotyped Writing. Zong Chen was politically unyielding and upright, and full of integrity. However he was not sophisticated when fighting with the noble and powerful, which obstructed his development. If he had had more patience and tolerance, Zong Chen would have had a better opportunity to show his ability at a higher level,benefiting more people than those in Fujian province.
