摘　　要：今年是《考古》创刊60周年。在这样一个值得纪念的时刻，作为主编，我的心情十分激动。60年来，《考古》由一个主要报道考古工作信息的通讯类刊物，发展成为现在的国内首屈一指、在国际上享有一定声誉的顶级专业杂志，期间经历了一次次社会动荡，克服了一个个困难，酸甜苦辣，艰辛磨难，只有亲历者才会有切身的体会。60年来，《考古》共出刊579期，刊发文稿总字数大约8500多万。Since the starting of publication in 1955, Kaogu （Archaeology） has been following the principle of serving the studies, prospering the studies and guiding the studies for sixty years, during which the journal also gets matured and makes progresses, and contributes the archaeological causes of China. The Kaogu in the sixty years also reflected the development process of Chinese Archaeology and the changes of the time. The essays in memory of the 60th anniversary of Kaogu organized by the editorial board are the retrospection and memorial of the past and also the perspective of today and the prospect of the future.
