摘　　要：中国有着悠久的竹编历史,在几千年的竹编工艺发展中,湘楚人民以自己的勤劳和智慧,创造了大量闻名于世的竹编制品,形成了具有丰厚底蕴的竹编文化。然而,如今的湘西竹编技艺正处于濒临失传的窘境。湖南怀化学院作为地方高校,肩负起了竹编文化传承与创新的重担。文章介绍了怀化学院艺术设计系师生在发展和传承湘西竹编工艺中开展的探索与实践。China has a long history of bamboo weaving, and during several thousand years, people living in Xiaoxiang region, which is now western Hunan, have been creating well-known bamboo weaving items and developed rich and profound bamboo culture with their hard work and wisdom. However, the Xiangxi bamboo weaving techniques are fa- ding into the river of history in a modem industrialized China. Hunan Huaihua University shoulders the mission to in- herit and innovate the bamboo weaving culture as a local college. The paper introduced the exploration and practices by teachers and students from Art Design Department of Huaihua University to develop and inherit the Xiangxi Bamboo Weaving.
