摘 要:以常州大学制药与生命科学学院2013年全职聘请一位法籍外教Jean-Yves Le Brazidec为例,分析高校聘请外专外教参与教学、科研活动和社会服务三个方面的利弊,肯定专业外教在提高学生专业英语、培养研究生、开展国际学术交流、提高学院知名度等方面的独特作用。同时从目前中国的实际情况看,包括大部分本科生的英语基础、官方语言为中文等,一个未熟练掌握中文的外专外教,独立授课和开展科研存在很多问题。由此建议高校聘请外专外教时应全面考虑本校的实际情况,充分建立聘请、管理外专外教的科学制度。Taking as an example that Jean Yves Le Brazidec, a French expert, was recruited as a full-time employee by School of Pharmaceutical and I.ife Sciences of Changzhou University in 2013, this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of universities to hire foreign experts and teachers in teaching, scientific research and social services. There are advantages of employing professional teachers in improving students' professional English, graduate students' training, carrying out international academic exchanges, improving the popularity of school, and so on. However, on the base of the current situation of China, including weak English foundation of most undergraduates, especially professional English, and the Chinese official language, a foreign expert or teacher, who knows little Chinese, has a lot of problems in the aspects of independent teaching and independent research. It is suggested that the universities should fully establish the policy and system of employment and management of foreign experts and teachers with deep consideration on the actual situation of the school.
