摘　　要：随着国外图书出版数字资源进程的加快、远程服务的发展、图书馆读者结构需求的变化,外文图书采选理论从价值论向需求论转移是一种必然趋势。本文论述了上海图书馆开展英文大众类图书采选工作的必要性,并对采选文学小说类图书进行了介绍和分析,对未来的大众类图书采选工作提出了打造特色、拓展学科、改变服务模式的建议,希望为广大同行开展此类图书采选工作提供一些参考。With the acceleration of publishing process of foreign digital resources, the development of remote service, and the changes of readers＇ demand structure, It is an inevitable trend to transfer value theory to demand the- ory in terms of foreign books selection theory. The paper analyses the necessity of Shanghai Library to select English popular books and introduces the selected fiction books. Then, the paper puts forward some suggestions like building characteristic library, expanding subjects and changing service patterns on popular books selection in the future, in hope of providing reference for library man to conduct such kind of work.
