摘　　要：中外学界在图腾研究方法上的不足和缺陷,致使对图腾现象的研究始终处于众说纷纭、停滞不前的局面和境地。研究图腾现象,一方面要关注其发展的历史过程,另一方面也要探究其蕴涵的实质意义,此两个方面缺一不可。鉴于此,笔者尝试提出一种新的图腾研究方法——"过程意义分析法"。The shortcomings and deficiencies of Chinese and foreign scholars in research method always result in the divergent opinions on totem phenomenon and the stagnant situation of research. To study totem phenomenon requires us to pay attention to the history of the development process on the one hand, it also requires us to explore the real meaning of its implication on the other hand. The two aspects are indispensable. In view of this, the author tries to put forward a new totem research method the ＂process meaning analysis＂
