指示词This/That和“这”/“那”的对比分析及翻译——基于文本《德伯家的苔丝》的研究

摘　　要：This/"这"和that/"那"分别是英汉语言中的近指词和远指词。文章从空间距离、时间距离和篇章距离三个角度比较了this/that和"这"/"那"的使用情况,发现英语使用者倾向于以实际距离来区分指示词与其参照物的远近,汉语使用者更倾向于使用近指词"这"来表达心理距离的近。进而文章从哲学视角探究根源,以期指导英汉指示词互译。This/＂这＂as well as that/＂那＂are near and remote demonstratives in English and Chinese respectively. After contrasting＂this/that＂with＂这/那＂in terms of spatial,time and discourse distance,this paper points out that the English speakers tend to use the demonstratives to indicate the real-world physical distance while Chinese speakers have a strong inclination to choose the near demonstrative＂这＂under the influence of their psychology. Furthermore,it analyzes the cause of such differences from the perspective of philosophy,which could be a guidance to the issue of translating English and Chinese demonstratives.
