Objective To explore the etiologies and the risk factors of intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH)in young people. Methods We retrospectively analyzed clinical data of 779 young patients with ICH in our hospital from January 2008 to January2014.Results A total of 779 young patients suffered ICH and men were more than women. The etiologies were displayed from high to low as follows:hypertension,unknown-causes,vascular malformations, pregnancy or in the puerperium, blood system diseases, tumor apoplexy, moyamoya disease and systemic lupus erythematosus.Risk factors included hypertension, alcohol consumption, family history of cerebrovascular disease, smoking, lipid disorder and history of stroke. The rate of vascular malformations in 18-31 age group was higher than that in 32-45 age group(P〈0.05).Patients in the 32-45 age group had higher rate of hypertension-induced hemorrhage than those in 18-31 age group(P〈0.05).Conclusion The rate of hemorrhage may increase as age goes by and hemorrhage affects men more than women. The main reason may be hypertension and the second may be vascular malformation.History of hypertension,smoking/alcohol consumption and lipid disorder may be associated with ICH in young people.
