摘  要:ESP教学是社会发展、高校教育的必然要求,也是学生自身发展和提升的需要.在进行ESP教学需求分析的基础上,结合专业英语课程的教学实践经验,分析高校ESP教学存在的不足,从如何有机衔接基础英语和专业英语、加强师资队伍建设、深化教学研究及完善考核体系等方面提出提高ESP教学效果和质量的建议和措施.Thanks to the development of social economy and the higher demands for talents,greater importance has been attached to English communication ability in job fields,which also rises the unprecedented attention to the teaching of ESP( English for Specific Purpose) in colleges. Based on needs analysis theory as well as the teaching exploration of the course"Practical English on Banking",the paper comprehensively analyses the shortcomings of ESP in colleges and puts forward reasonable suggestions and reform measures to improve English teaching for specific purpose,including the improvement of evaluation system,the training for teaching staff and the effective joint of basic English and professional English.
