摘　　要：提高学生能力,既是"教书育人"的内在要求,也是英语教学改革的重点之一。笔者认为,报刊课程以其实践性强、开放度高等特征,可在能力培养方面发挥独特作用。本文结合教学实例,从提升学生自主学习与合作学习能力、分析与解决问题能力、批判性思维与独立思维能力等三个方面,探讨了借助报刊教学,全面培养学生能力的具体方法。It is not only an inherent requirement of education but a focus of English teaching reform to improve students＇ abilities.The writer holds that the newspapers course, with its highly practical and open features, plays a distinct role in ability cultivation.Combined with specific teaching cases, this paper explores concrete methods to comprehensively cultivate students＇ abilities by means of newspapers teaching from the improvement of students＇ ability of autonomous and cooperative learning, ability of analyzing and solving problems, and ability of critical and independent thinking.
