摘　　要：中国古代白话长篇小说晚起于世界许多国家的原因有多个方面。中国表意文字在记录口传上的弱点,成为长篇巨制产生的天然屏障;而书写工具的不便利又使长篇小说的产生缺乏必要的物质基础;中国叙事文学长期被历史叙事主导,传统小说文体的低下以及文人对小说的敬而远之,是古典长篇小说晚起的深层原因。对古代白话长篇小说晚起的原因进行探讨,有利于深层理解小说发展流变过程中的特殊现象,这对完善古代小说发展史有积极意义。Ancient Chinese vernacular novels being late rising than other countries in the world, the reasons lie in many aspects. Chinese ideograms in recording oral weaknesses becomes a long piece of natural barrier; and the writing tool is not convenient makes the novel production lacks the essential material foundation; Chinese narrative literature has long been dominated by historical narrative; the low status s of the traditional novel and the literati has an distance attitude of the novel,these are the deep reasons of the classical novel late rising. The study of the late rising reasons of Chinese ancient novels is conducive to understand the special phenomenon in the process of the development of novel, which has positive significance to perfect the ancient novel history.
