摘　　要：库柏的海洋小说《领航人》以美国独立战争为背景,通过海岛、舰船及海洋等一系列海洋空间意象的描写,宣扬了美国的英雄主义精神,同时也刻画了殖民地流散者边缘化的生存境地。面临着支持北美殖民地还是效忠英皇的艰难抉择,随着居住空间环境的改变,殖民地流散者在两个历史、两种文化差异的裂变中努力进行自我身份的认同及构建。James Fenimore Cooper＇s sea novel The Pilots is set in the American Revolution and publicizes the American nationalism by describing a series of sea images like the islands, the ships and the sea. Besides, it depicts the marginalized survival situation of the colonial diasporas. Confronted with the change of environment and the difficult choice of supporting the North American colony or being loyal to the emperor of England, they try hard to recognize and construct self-identity in the two different histories and cultures.
