摘　　要：赵元任是中国语用学思想发展史上很有影响力的语言学家之一,在当代语用学的开拓与发展中起到了非常重要的作用。他主张更多关注实际使用中的语言研究,从语用学的角度研究语言的意义。他的语用学思想主要集中在其对意义的研究中,体现在对意义即语境、语境的定义与层次、意义的分类等相关论述中,这些依然是当代语用学研究中的重要课题。Zhao Yuanren played a very important role in the development of Chinese pragmatic thoughts. He proposed to focus more attention on researches into practical language use, and study language from pragmatic perspective. His pragmatic thoughts mainly include his standpoint that meaning is context, his analyses about six aspects of contexts, and his discussion on the types of meaning, all of which are still the important issues in modern pragmatic studies.
