魏晋南北朝区域人物传探论——兼与胡宝国先生商榷

摘　　要：区域人物传创作发端于东汉时期,其最初是朝廷体察各区域风俗、人情的手段。此时的区域人物传多记本朝人物,且贤愚并录。至魏晋南北朝时期,受史学发展、史官制度设置、人物品评风气等时代背景的影响,区域人物传创作迅猛发展。此时区域人物传的发展亦与发达地区门阀世族间的互相抗衡有重要关系。各区域人物传多产生在当时的经济、政治、军事重心,而非如胡宝国先生所说产生于落后地区。与东汉时期区域人物传相比,魏晋六朝区域人物传专意于"述美"人物,其所记人物范围亦不再局限于一朝,所记人物类型也渐趋多元化。唐代开始,图经、方志逐步定型,区域人物传也多并入方志之中而不再独立成书。Local biographies emerged in the Eastern Han dynasty and were a tool for the Imperial Court to reflect the local customs and cultures. Local biographies in the Eastern Han dynasty only recorded the people in this dynasty, no matter they were virtuous or evil. During the Six Dynasties, the local biographies flourished due to the influence of historiography, the establishment of the system of official historians, and the critique of the historical figures. This flourish was also closely related to the confrontation between distinguished families. Most such biographies were created in the econom- ic, politic and military centers in those days rather than in the backward areas as Mr. Hu Baoguo said. Compared with the local biographies in the Eastern Han dynasty, those created in the Six Dynasties focused on highlighting the merits of the historical figures of various kinds in different dynasties. Since the Tang dynasty, the local histories and records with pictures had gradually become established, and as a result local biographies also became a part of local histories and were no longer regarded as an independent genre.
