Objective To explore the impact of the use of topiramate in patients with epilepsy sugar metabolism. Methods 120 patients with epilepsy were selected in our hospital, with random number table based on all patients were divided into control group and observation group, 60 cases in each group, the control group were treated with sodium valproate treatment, observation treatment group were treated with topiramate, compared to glucose, IR, blood insulin levels and adverse events two groups of patients after treatment situation. Results The observation group and the control group after treatment, the blood glucose, IR, blood insulin levels in observation group improved more signiifcantly, the difference were statistically signiifcant (P〈0.05), The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group 24.00%, was lower than the control group 50.00%, the difference was statistically signiifcant (P 〈0.05).Conclusion Patients with epilepsy using topiramate treatment effect will be better, reduce neuronal injury, neuroprotection, epileptic seizures have a better therapeutic effect, pharmacokinetics good, faster absorption of drugs improve the utilization of the drug, which will help patients to normalize glucose metabolism indicators development, reduce pain therapy to patients.
