摘　　要：Li Jinxia was laid off from her job in 1995. Later that year, she opened a store, where she sold cooking utensils and liquefied gas tanks. In 1999. Jingdezhen＇s municipal government began an ad campaign to find qualified people to serve as officials at the grass-roots level. At that time, Li＇s business was booming; yet, on a whim, Li took and passed the exam, and she was eventually named director of Senlin Community.
