摘 要:1970年代,意大利以阿卡米亚工作室为代表的激进设计酝酿了后现代主义,到了1980年代,孟菲斯工作室更是把它推至巅峰,对全世界的家具设计起到了重大影响、后现代主义是对现代主义的反动,它是一种"反理性设计"反理性主义和理性主义的设计与西方经济的兴衰同步循环,荣辱与共,两者的矛盾和斗争客观上促进了设计的发展但是设计最终是为人服务的,人的需求包括精神和物质两个方面,理性设计侧重物质的需求,而反理性设计着眼于精神的需求两者并没有孰是孰非.问题在于两者的平衡或者平衡中的侧重.In the 1970 s post-modernism had been brewing by radical design represented by Alchymia studio and was pushed to its peak by Memphis Design Studio during 1980 s which had significant influence to the furniture design of the whole world.The post-modernism is reaction of the modernism which is an "anti-rationalism design.The cycles of rationalism and anti-rationalism have coincided with the decline and growth of western world's economy,and the contradiction and struggle between them promote the development of the design objectively.But the design serves for the people at the end and the demands of human beings include spiritual and material the demands of the spirit and the material for which the rationalism focuses at the demands of material and anti-rationalism looks at the demands of the spirit.They are considered as neither right or wrong,for which it is all but important in their balance or the emphasis on the balance.
