吉登斯的“时-空秩序”与现代性逻辑

摘　　要：吉登斯以"时-空"秩序的变迁作为其分析现代性的逻辑起点,认为相对于传统社会,"时-空分离"是现代性社会生成的物理基础,它使现代性观念的变迁、现代性制度的形成和全球性现代性文明的生成成为可能。"时-空分离"所形成的"时-空新秩序"是一把充满悖论的双刃剑,既是现代性生成的动力机制和主要特征,又是现代性危机的根源。"时-空新秩序"下生成的抽象系统拷问着现代性制度:社会知识关系重构下的"专家系统"拷问着现代性的社会信任和知识合法性;"象征标志"拷问着公众对现代性制度的信心与信任。驾驭现代性这头"猛兽",不在于时空的物理性重构本身,而是隐藏在时空背后的社会关系的彻底重构——社会关系的变革(消除全面异化),进行"政治解放"和"人的解放"的"双重解放"。Giddens takes the change of ＂time-space order＂as his logical starting point of the analysis of modernity. He holds that ＂time-space separation＂,compared with the traditional society,is the physical basis of the birth of modern society,which makes it possible for the concept of modernity to change,the systems of modernity to form and the civilization that is global and of modernity to generate. ＂New space-time order＂arising from＂time-space separation＂is a double-edged sword full of paradoxes,which is not only the dynamic mechanism and the main feature of the generation of modernity,but also the origin of the crisis of modernity. The abstract system generated under the ＂new space-time order＂challenges the systems of modernity. The ＂expert system＂under the reconstruction of the relation of social knowledge challenges the social trust of modernity and the legitimacy of knowledge. The ＂symbolic tokens＂challenge the public＇s confidence and trust in the systems of modernity. Controlling the ＂monster＂of modernity lies in not the physical reconstruction of time and space itself,but the thorough reconstruction of the social relations hidden behind them,namely the revolution of social relations（ eliminating the overall alienation）,carrying out the＂double liberation＂of＂political emancipation＂and＂human liberation＂.
