摘　　要：在英汉两种语言的转换过程中,我们会经常遇到表面看似对应而实际上不完全对称的词汇。本文以汉英中看似对应的"先生"为例,通过比较发现,它们既有相似点,但有时候却是貌合神离。究其原因,那是因为不同的语言反映出不同的历史文化。In the translation between Chinese and English,there do exist some seemingly corresponding word. This paper,taking the words”xiansheng”in Chinese and“Mr.”＆amp;“sir”in English for example analyzes their simi-larities and differences in many aspects. The reason for that lies in their different histories and cultures.
